Conclusion: Like its sibling the HF10, Canon's flash-based Vixia HF11 delivers excellent HD video quality and performance in a tiny package. However, the HF11 delivers a bit more value for its lower price.
Conclusion: ...So until the HF11's price goes down, or the HF10 and HF100 are withdrawn from sale, it will remain a great camcorder but not as good value as its predecessors.
Conclusion: If you already own the HF10, there is next to no reason to make the switch to the HF11. Everyone else, on the other hand, would do well to seek this camcorder out.
The Canon iVIS HF11, replacing the HF10, has 32GB internal storage while the HG21, which is the successor of the HG10, comes with a 120GB hard drive. Both of them supports also SD and SDHC memory cards. They are powered by Canon’s DIGIC DV II video engine. HF11 and HG21 are capable in recording HD 1920×1080 videos in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 High Profile format. They get also a 2.7-inch LCD display.
